Lumbago / ISG blockade / vertebral joint blockade / sciatica

Symptoms

The interaction of the various muscle groups, fascia, vertebral joints and intervertebral discs can lead to a wide variety of symptoms. A very precise examination of the statics and musculature is the basis of every treatment.

Acute lumbar spine pain is often referred to as "lumbago". If the nerve structures in the nerve canal are pinched or compressed, this can be accompanied by radiation into the legs ("sciatica"). At the latest when the patient complains of numbness and tingling sensations or even paralysis, weakness or unsteady gait, an orthopaedist should be consulted to rule out a slipped disc.

Causes

Lumbago refers to acute shooting pain in the lumbar spine. Lumbago, sacroiliac joint blockages and vertebral joint blockages are clearly increasing in frequency. The causes are often poor posture due to working at a PC, sitting for long periods and a lack of compensatory sport. Back pain is now a widespread disease and 85 percent of all Germans complain of complaints in the lumbar spine at some point in their lives. This is why back pain must be treated early and effectively to prevent it from becoming chronic.

Therapy

A stable muscle corset is the best prerequisite for a strong and pain-free back. Chirotherapy ("straightening"), physiotherapy, posture correction, stretching exercises for shortened muscles, heat applications, lumbar support and adjustment of leg length and injections of the facet joints under BV control are among the most important therapies.
